For the bread that makes everything so much better, here is the recipe. You will need activated sourdough starter (if you have questions on this, please find the Tips & Tricks area!), flour, warm water, and salt.
- 100g of Sourdough Starter
- 350g of Warm Water
- 12g of Salt
- 500g of Flour
The easiest way to mix all of this together is to take the warm water and the sourdough starter and whisk it together first. Then add the salt and flour and mix. This will keep the sourdough starter from getting lumpy and hard to mix in.
After Mixing….
Once you have mix everything together, you can do one of two things. You can do the lazy girl method, or you can do the regular method. Either way, it is totally up to you. For the lazy girl method you will mix and let it sit on the counter overnight. For the regular method, you will let the dough rest for about an hour and then do a stretch and fold. You will do these 3 more times, waiting 30 minutes in-between. Then you will do your final one and set this in the fridge overnight. if you have questions on this, you will go to the Tips & Tricks area!
Baking Time!
In the morning, you will shape your dough by laying it out and stretch, but not tear, the loaf into a rectangle. If you are adding anything, this would be the time to add anything that you wish to. You will preheat the oven to 450F and then you will pop it into a Dutch over and set it in there for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, you will take the lid off and lower the heat to 400F and bake for another 25-35 minutes depending on how dark you want your crust. Let this cool for 1 hour and then BOOM, you have a fresh baked sourdough loaf!
